collection has over 200 pieces of glass from 10 BCE to 700 CE and each
of them is shown beautifully photographed in color. On some items,
line drawings are included, to show detail not readily apparent in the
photos. Each section begins with a discussion of the techniques
available and the glass industry in that time period. The types of
objects are discussed followed by the pictures. There is a very
useful glossary, explaining technical terms. The variety of items
is wonderful, including flasks, jars, beads, bowls and bottles in many
colors and with all sorts of decorations.
