Patterns
for Theatrical Costumes
by Katherine Strand Hoolkeboer |
| I don't usually carry the type of costume book that examines the history of fashion from the dawn of time until the present - |
| they usually do not have enough on medieval and renaissance dress to make them worth the price. This one, however, was obviously compiled by someone interested in our time period - over a third | ![]() |

it is either medieval or renaissance. There is almost no text,
just a few notes around the clear line drawings. The patterns are
designed to achieve the look of the picture in as simple a manner as
possible - they are not period cutting styles. Decorative patterns
of the time are also included, designed in such a way that they could
easily be used as stencils. This is an excellent book for the
beginner and might even find a use in the library of a more serious
student.
