Needlework Patterns from Renaissance Germany  designs recharted by Kathryn Newall

In 1597, Johan Sibmacher published a book of needlework patterns in Germany.  In 1604, he published another one (reprinted by Dover in 1975).  With diligent research, the author tracked down the first one, finding to her delight that it was totally different, with not one pattern the same.  Using software, she recharted these patterns for modern use.  There is no text, outside of an introduction and a bibliography.  The rest is just needlework patterns, some in 2 colors, suitable for projects for the modern embroiderer.
