Medieval Germany, 500-1330: A Political Interpretation by Benjamin Arnold |
| There is not much available on medieval Germany right now. Perhaps part of the problem is that there was no medieval 'Germany'. Arnold spends the first third of the book discussing the various ethnic groups and kingdoms |

that
existed in the geographic area that is now Germany - Bavaria, Swabia,
Saxony, Thuringia, etc. The second third of the book deals with
the Holy Roman Empire and the last section takes up different issues of
kingship and government. Although I prefer to carry cultural or
social history, this is interestingly written and one of the few
resources available in print on that area.
