Jester Leaps In by Alan Gordon |
| Feste
is back! If you have been waiting impatiently for the next
installment to come out in paperback, your wait is over. The first
chapter answers many of the questions left hanging at the end of the
last book and then it's on to Byzantium for a new adventure.
This book is much more historically based than the first one, as it takes place in the very real city of Constantinople at a very specific moment in history with real people interspersed among the fictional. However, Gordon does not allow his research to interfere with his imagination, as there is plenty of room among the people to unimportant to be documented for all kinds of mischief. Actually, considering the character of the Byzantine court, plotting, betrayal and danger fit in with what is know about the real people quite well. $6.50 (paperback) |
