Feste is hard to write about, as almost everything the reader finds out about him is revealed slowly and in bits, as if one is putting together a secret puzzle.  He is a jester, a fool, an all-purpose entertainer.  However, he is also trying to make the world a better place to live.

If I don't want to say too much about the man, there is a great deal I might say in praise of the author.  First of all, the books are page-turners, always keeping one interested in what happens next.  Although these books are not that type that are awash in period detail, I did not catch any mistakes.  They are humorous, both because Feste has a smart-aleck mouth and because, every so often, the author slides in a reference to something in our 21st century lives that evokes a surprised laugh.  Each book leaves the reader eager to find out what happens next in the life of this fool.
