| It
is not easy to find books on medieval embroidery - most books treat it
as a short introductory chapter on the way to the more modern
work. As part of the "Medieval Craftsmen" series
published by the University of Toronto Press, Embroiderers is a
short book packed with useful information. There are also a number
of pictures, showing both embroiderers at work and the textiles they
produced. Chapters include: Guilds, Production, Techniques, and
Patrons. The author is Keeper of Costume and Textiles at the
Museum of London.
