is, to some extent, a frustrating book. It is definitely not for
beginners, yet the lack of footnotes and specific documentation is bound
to be annoying to the more serious. Yet there are a number of
interesting and obscure pictures reproduced (in black and white) and the
authors tackle many subjects usually ignored, such as religious and
working class clothing. It has just come out in paperback and
is easier to recommend, now that it's cheaper.
