| This
is not particularly a book of medieval costume; rather it is a study of
the numerous ways that garments can be made with simple geometric cuts
that utilize every bit of fabric in a rectangle. These include
't-tunics', various shirt and smock styles and gored gowns. While
the author has a couple of medieval or renaissance garments to work
with, most of her examples come from more modern sources, but ones that
were removed from the industrialized world and its ability to be
fashionable and waste fabric. Cutting layouts are included.
